Mecelec Design Ltd has manufactured and installed robotic equipment in a number of different industry sectors ranging from electronics to heavy automotive.
These industrial robots are generally used to carry out operations that require accurate high speed repetitive tasks to be consistently and reliably performed or to undertake operations that would be hazardous or difficult for a human operator to perform.
Robotics broadly fall into three categories: Cartesian pick and place, SCARA and Six Axis. All require a corresponding range of payload and accuracy capabilities.
Our experience covers all the above disciplines, handling components that weigh no more than a few grams to larger components weighing in excess of 150kg, operating in environments ranging from Clean Room to ATEX Rated Explosive Atmosphere.
It is not untypical for Mecelec Design Ltd to be required to install and commission complex robotic assembly cells into automotive production lines during the annual two-week summer shutdown period – a challenging and demanding process, well within the capabilities of the Mecelec Design Ltd Engineering Team.
Typical applications range from orientation and placement of electrical components onto printed circuit boards to the assembly of complete automotive engines and related subassemblies.
Mecelec Design Ltd offers complete integration of all major industry standard robots and robotic systems. Installations are confidently supported by the ability to fully program all systems in-house. If required, we can also design and build our own Cartesian systems to suit bespoke applications.
Installations extend to automation of all manufacturing and metal cutting processes, as well as assembly and test operations.
Design, feasibility, evaluation and project management services are also available to facilitate the development of business cases to support investment decisions.
