The industrial electronics market is full of fancy interfaces and gadgets. Sometimes in the special purpose machine market the device that is needed has not yet been designed, or if it does exist it needs to be tweaked a little. This is where our electronics engineers come into their own.
Mecelec Design Ltd has a team of qualified electronics engineers who can design and manufacture the electronic interfaces required to process complex signal inputs.
The electronic devices produced by Mecelec Design Ltd are most frequently used as interfaces for PLC- and PC-based controllers. In addition, electronic control systems may be required to stand alone. In these cases the electronics may include control logic and closed loop control systems. For systems requiring greater complexity, microprocessor control may be employed.
Signal inputs may be received from a wide variety of sources, including:
- Temperature Sensors
- Thermistor
- Thermocouple
- Resistance thermometer
- Semiconductor
- Strain Gauge Devices
- Force
- Torque
- Pressure
- Position Sensors
- Potentiometers
- LVDTs
- Switches
- Electrical Signals
- Current
- Voltage
- Frequency
- Resistance sources
Output devices that may be driven include:
- Magnetic solenoid actuators
- Valves
- contactors
- relays
- electro magnets
- Low Power DC motors
- Light Sources
- Filament
- LED
- Electro-luminescent
- Heaters
- Current controlled devices
- Proportional valves
- controlled regulators
- hysteresis brake
- magnetic particle clutch or brake
Mecelec Design Ltd has experience in the use of microprocessors to produce control and monitoring systems that are compact, lightweight and require little power for use in portable, battery-powered devices. Such devices include signal processing for sensors, output drivers for indicators and actuators, and interfaces for an LCD display and operator inputs. Connectivity to a host PC can also be provided if required.
Microprocessor code is developed and proven by the Mecelec Design Ltd software team. Code is compiled from programs written in C. Mecelec Design Ltd has experience of hardware and associated software from leading manufacturers, PIC and STM.
